Rebecca and Israel Kimmel with Sandu (Alexander)
Rebecca (Paulina's sister) and her husband Israel Kimmel with Alexander Seigler in approximately 1935. Rebecca and Israel did not have children of their own, and raised Alexander Seigler--who was the son of Rebecca's sister, Speranza and Osias.
I looked at my cousin's website which indicated that Rebecca's last name might have been "caroway" which is the literal translation of "kimmel" in Hebrew. Combining the information from the photos with the information on the website I have concluded that their last name was "Kimmel" and thus Rebecca's husband's name was "Israel". Rebecca moved to the United States in 1900 (according to Yael's information) and lived there for 12 years and then returned to Romania. As I learned more about Rebecca I discovered that she took care of my great-aunt Henrietta when she lived in the US, and later when Danny Zohar was a small child in Romania he visited his Aunt Rebecca.
Rebecca wrote in English on the backs of the photographs.
