This picture stone was thought for many years to depict Odinn riding his stallion Sleipnir. However, it is now accepted as being the giantess Hyrrokkin, who is using snakes for reins while she is riding a wolf on her way to Baldr’s funeral. The gods summoned Hyrrokkin because they needed her to push Baldr’s funeral ship off shore.
