About

The research, writing, and creation of FTM: Building Trans Community took place in the city of "Victoria", located on the unceeded territories of the Lək̓ʷəŋən, Songhees, Esquimalt, and W̱SÁNEĆ Peoples. Every source consulted for this project is freely available online, including digital facsimiles of each FTM Issue via Special Collections at the University of Victoria. I recognize that accessing archived chapters of one's own cultural history is a privilege not everyone has. Everyone deserves to see themselves represented in archival institutions, and I am proud of the Trans histories the University of Victoria has made available for queer communities.

Sky Dragushan is a third-year undergraduate student studying Art History and English at the University of Victoria. Their research interests include Trans studies, ancient artefacts, and the intersection of Queer theory and Archival and Library Studies.

Dragushan's research on the publication history of the FTM newsletter is supported by the Peter and Ana Lowens-Special Collections Fellowship. Special thanks are extended to Pia Russell and Dr. Aaron Devor for their invaluable mentorship and phenomenal advice.
