Description
This video/audio creation serves as an extension to my final reflection. It features the love of my life - who, like Smart's 'love object', remains (mostly) faceless/nameless, existing as both a presence and an absence. Using imagery of the ocean, tangled kelp, stone walls, metal gates and ancient rings, I sought the same raw elements Smart used in her writing: weathered, stripped down, laid bare and fully exposed. Layered recordings of The Smiths's "Well I Wonder" were added, drifting in and out of the original audio, overlapping one another like waves.
